Privacy Policy

Effective: October 7, 2026Product: Web to Figma (Chrome extension)

1. Introduction

Welcome to Web to Figma, a Chrome extension that turns web pages you choose into editable Figma layers. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension collects, how it is used and shared, and how you can control it. By installing or using Web to Figma, you agree to this policy.

The short version: nothing is captured until you click the extension or use its shortcut. When you do, the page's content is read to build your design and uploaded to our service so you can open it in Figma. Captures made in an Incognito window stay on your device. We never sell your data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Information from pages you capture

  • Page content: the structure, text, styles, images and fonts of the page or element you capture. This can include anything visible on that page, so please don't capture pages that show information you aren't willing to upload.
  • Page details: the URL and title of the captured page.

2.2. Information stored on your device

  • Settings: your shortcut, capture area and viewport sizes.
  • Most recent capture: kept in the browser's extension storage so it survives closing the popup.

2.3. Information we do not collect

  • Your name, email address, passwords or account details. The extension has no sign-up.
  • Your browsing history, or data from pages you haven't asked us to capture.
  • Analytics, advertising identifiers or cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use captured information only to:

  • Convert the page you chose into editable Figma layers.
  • Deliver the result to you, including opening it in the Web to Figma Figma plugin.
  • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • Respond to your support or deletion requests.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any unrelated purpose, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers: companies that host our database and file storage on our behalf and may only use your data to provide that service.
  • Legal obligations: where required by law or valid requests from public authorities.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, sale or acquisition of our business.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose you agree to.

5. Storage, Retention and Security

Captures made in an Incognito window are not uploaded. Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use reasonable measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Browser Permissions and Remote Code

The extension requests permissions only to read the page you choose to capture and to save or copy the result:

  • activeTab, scripting, tabs: read the page you are capturing and label it.
  • storage, unlimitedStorage: keep settings and your latest capture on your device.
  • downloads, clipboardWrite: save or copy the result when you ask.
  • debugger: used only for "Inspect element" and "Design system", to read computed styles.

The extension does not download or run remote code. All of its code ships inside the extension package.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data, including any uploaded captures.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. By using the extension to capture a page, you agree to this transfer.

9. Children's Privacy

Web to Figma is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
